Slowroom Brussels brings together sustainable fashion and local talent at MAD Brussels
from March 7th to March 9th 2025
Slowroom Brussels returns to MAD Brussels, in the heart of the Dansaert district, for its fourth edition. This annual event presents an exceptional selection of 25 Belgian sustainable brands and puts young Belgian talent, reuse of materials, local production and social responsibility at the heart of the event. In collaboration with the Centre for Fashion and Design, Slowroom Brussels emphasises the importance of joint efforts to support emerging Brussels brands. Visitors are encouraged to look at fashion and consumption in a new perspective, in a friendly atmosphere with performances, inspiring conferences and creative workshops.
Visitors can discover many young designers. For example, Maud Brunstein, textile designer and La Cambre graduate, specialises in knitwear. She designs blankets and tops using yarns from surplus production, playing with colour to create a fascinating interaction between material, body and space. Brussels-based accessories and clothing brand Simple offers products made in small runs or to order. The collection is made from deadstock materials and handmade in her own workshop or by an ETA (entreprise de travail adapté) in the heart of Brussels. Besides clothing, accessory brands are also represented, such as the jewellery brand Abnormal. This brand will attend the slow fashion event with gender-neutral creations made from recycled metals and synthetic or responsibly sourced gems.
Slowroom Brussels will be much more than just a fashion fair. The event kicks off with a lecture by REantwerp, winner of the Changemaker of the Year 2024 award at the Belgian Fashion Awards. The founders will share their vision on the challenges and successes of a sustainable fashion brand. New this edition are the workshops taking place on Saturday and Sunday, led by designers such as Anneleen Bertels, Toufan Hosseiny and Keriko Studio.
In addition, music will also play a central role this year, with concerts and performances throughout the weekend. The program kicks off on Friday evening with an opening night hosted by the Brussels-based collective Magma. They will present DJ sets by Umbra, Bon Public, and Catalina, along with a live performance by the band Dorothy Dale. Saturday will spotlight local talent, featuring performances by Bendrik and Unos, followed by a special evening with an exclusive concert by an international artist, whose name will be revealed soon. The weekend will wrap up in a relaxed atmosphere on Sunday afternoon with a vinyl session curated by Sono Ventura, with SVS and Nikita on the decks.
Slowroom Brussels
In a short time, Slowroom Brussels has become an unmissable event for anyone with a heart for sustainable fashion. The event offers a platform to local designers and aims to promote the reuse of materials, corporate social responsibility and local production. In other words, Slowroom celebrates innovation, sustainability and inclusion. The fashion fair aims to be an example of ethical and responsible fashion and encourages buyers to reflect on their consumption habits.
